With quiet now in Hebron, disturbing experiences of residents are now in discussion

Israel National News presents a report on the experiences of Jewish residents of Hebron, most ancient Jewish city in history, in the recent days since Ehud Olmert's trying to evict them took place and led to riots:

Police harassment of Jews in Hevron is not a new phenomenon. Long-time residents David Shirel and Shani Horowitz tell their harrowing stories of the past two days.

Read the whole thing. On a related note, it wouldn't surprise if indeed, the crumbly government's assistance to the expellees from Gaza was just so much transparent campaign gimmickry. (Update: here's a petition to reopen Hebron to all Jewish residents, and, if you ask me, Christian tourists too.)

Update: the city is now open again, as it should be, for everyone. Unfortunately, brutal arrests are still taking place.
