French government accused of following sharia on the topic of housing benefits
The French government has been accused of following Islamic law, specifically one which designates guardianship of children, to determine housing benefits for Muslims. If the government's smart, they'll drop the subject from the listings on the site, and not promote such propaganda any longer. It's totally detrimental, and Laurent Waquiez, as the new leader of Les Republicains, would do well to address the issue as well.
The French housing benefit, known as CAF, is calculated on a number of factors, including the income of a household and how many children live in a household.
On the official website of the CAF, the government mentions a form of Islamic jurisprudence known as “Kafala” as being valid alongside other documents to prove guardianship of children, leading some to question if the government is following Islamic law.
Anti-Islamisation Front National MP Gilbert Collard questioned the French state giving legal legitimacy to what he called a “Quranic judgement”.
Describing Kafala as “totally foreign to any French legal norm” and arguing that such judgements are “directly derived from the Quranic law”, Collard asked the French Justice Ministry how Quranic law held any force in France.
Fellow Front National member and MEP Bernard Monot also questioned whether or not the policy was a sign of Islamisation.

A ban on renting apartments to Jews
on France’s Cote d’Azur reportedly
has not been changed since it was
enacted under the World War II-era
Vichy government.
The law requires that applicants for
certain apartments attest that they are:
“French, non-Jews, and not married to a Jew,
in the legal sense currently in effect.”
The newspaper Nice-Matin, which discovered
the law, reported that Jews who wish to
buy an apartment in Nice must pay an extra
$1,000 to $10,000 in notary fees to get
around these articles, and that such
arrangements are probably in effect
in other towns in France as well.
