Yaalon describes "disengagement" perfectly

One Jerusalem's Allen Roth had a conversation with former IDF Chief of Staff Moshe Yaalon recently, and there was also an article published, in the Jerusalem Post, I think, in which the latter made a very fitting description of what the Sharon government's "disengagement" was:
On Friday, Israel's largest newspaper published a front-page report on a speech by former Chief of Staff General Moshe Yaalon. General Yaalon described the disengagement carried out by the Sharon government as a "Golden Calf".
Or, put in a simpler way, idol worship. (Or, put in yet another way, un-Israeli.) Right on, Yaalon, you summed it up perfectly. On another note, Roth says that:
After spending over an hour discussing Israel's challenges I came away with the impression that General Yaalon is a serious thinker as well as an accomplished soldier. His insights go beyond what you generally hear from the military establishment.
I think I gotta agree there. Yes indeed.

He really is an "officer and a gentleman". If more people thought and acted like he does Israel would be a better place.
