An act of rape?

Disgusting, and shows that the police have now really crossed a line:
During a protest at the Shiloh junction north of Amona, a dozen police jumped a mother of nine, delivered strong blows to all parts of her body and then stripped off her shirt in public.
Obviously, these do not sound like the kind of people you'd want to let your daughter go out on a date with. Here's also an audio recording of an eyewitness account.

Cosmic X notes that the attack in Amona yesterday was a very serious blow to Ehud Olmert's credibility. But the rape, whether attempted or actual, will severely blacken not just his own image, but also that of the Israeli police.

President Moshe Katsav has said that the police have some explaining to do. The Likud has slammed Olmert for choosing infighting over responding to Hamas terrorism, and they've also called for an official inquiry into the violence. There's to be a hearing on this in the Knesset next week. I should hope it'll take place, because this is something very serious.

Update: OneJerusalem.Org notes that both the right and left agree that Olmert went overboard in how he dealt with things.
