Jean-Francois Revel, 1924-2006
Revel was one bold Frenchman who was pro-American and not afraid to buck the Chomskyite trends advocated by a lot of bad European politicians in his time. He was also the author of a book in 2002 that studied the European problems with it. You can read some excerpts of it at The American Enterprise.
He'll most certainly be missed, since he was one of those who understood the dangers of Islamofascism now plaguing Europe, and it would be strongly recommended for anyone concerned with Islamofascism on the European continent and France in particular to read his works.
