Israel's Accountant-General testifies in probe
This is related to Ehud Olmert's shady activities:
The Accountant-General of the Finance Ministry testified before the National Police Fraud Unit for a second time Monday in connection with an investigation against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. There's one problem: Tzipi Livni may be appointed acting prime minister and will be the one to replace Olmert if he goes. The public needs to know why she's no better than he is.
Accountant-General Yaron Zelekha was questioned in the probe of Olmert’s role in the privatization of Bank Leumi.
Olmert (pictured with his wife Aliza) is suspected of helping two businessmen bid for the government shares in the tender for the bank. Both of the businessmen withdrew themselves from the bidding.
Zelekha, who spoke with investigators at the fraud unit’s headquarters in Bat Yam, is considered to be a central witness in the case.
