No surprise that Putin's party has won
MOSCOW (AP) - Early results showed Vladimir Putin's party winning more than 60 percent of the vote Sunday in a parliamentary election that could pave the way for him to remain the country's leader even when he steps down as president.Oh yes, I'm sure they did. The country that stretches between Europe and Asia is on its way to ruin, as should be apparent by now. I would advise all Jews who don't want to fall victim to the persecution that befell those who'd lived there more than a century ago to make a departure ASAP. Come to here, or even to Japan, which took in Jewish refugees in the early 20th century, and thankfully has better common sense now than they did circa WW2.
The vote followed a Kremlin campaign that relied on a combination of persuasion and intimidation to ensure victory for Putin's United Russia party.
