Likud primary election has some good folks, but there's still what to consider
Now that the Likud's primaries have taken place, I want to first say that they have a very impressive lineup. Gilad Arden and Gideon Saar have taken the top spots after Netanyahu, and Ruvy Rivlin and Benny Begin have gotten leading positions as well.
In the 20th rank, Moshe Feiglin was elected. I want to make clear here something. I think he's got some well-meaning positions, and of course his strong beliefs on Israel are something everybody is asking for. But I feel he tends to boast at times, and is irrational in some of his statements. That's where he undermines himself.
I am glad if Feiglin doesn't harm the Likud in polls, seeing how as of now, he actually brings quite a few people who may have voted for the National Union (now called Jewish Home) to vote for Likud now, among others. But I'd be a lot happier if I knew he wasn't going to go overboard with his unpredictableness, and if he'll cooperate with the rest of the Likud properly. And he could start by apologizing to Netanyahu for making that offensive attack on the Likud's leader last week, which really angered me.
I'm sure Feiglin has his advantages. It's just a shame he's undermined his credibility by acting irrationally, and doing things even Tom Tancredo knew better than to do.
