Natan Sharansky recommended for Jewish Agency chairmanship
Natan Sharansky, the dissident from the former Soviet Union who was a minister in at least 3 Israeli coalitions, is now being recommended for director of the Jewish Agency.
I think Benjamin Netanyahu made an excellent choice. When Ariel Sharon was prime minister, he blocked Sharansky from running for chairmanship in revenge for Sharansky's opposing the "disengagement", in a gross violation of democratic rules. Now, at last, Sharanksy may be getting a job that's perfect for him.
