After electoral defeat, the best place Sarkozy can think to vacation is in Morocco?
The UK Telegraph says that following his defeat in the French elections, Nicholas Sarkozy has chosen a rather questionable place to stay, depending on your POV:
This is basically your "politics make strange bedfellows" situation.
Mr Sarkozy, his wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, and their daughter Giulia, returned to Paris on Saturday, where he was spotted jogging in the Bois de Boulogne, after unwinding at King Mohammed VI's expense in one of his luxury private residences in Marrakesh.Boy, I just can't believe how people like him are still willing to make countries like Morocco their choice for a vacation, and even willing to be chummy with a questionable politician running a country that's got its own problems with Islamism. Why not Japan? Far as I know, the south end is pretty sunny at this time of year, and could make a great place for a vacation for the Sarkozys instead. Choosing Morocco suggests weakness, ditto Sarko's involvement with the king who could be a very bad lot.
