Another Haredi riot in Beit Shemesh
On Thursday about 300 ultra-Orthodox protesters confronted police over the construction of a complex meant to house some 1,000 Jewish families because they believe the site contains ancient Jewish graves.Ah yes, they think this is justification for arson, one of the worst crimes they could possibly pull. If there's old graves there, they can always have the remains moved and stored in a better place. But that's no excuse for rioting, and those who did should serve serious jail sentences.
The scuffle in the Jerusalem suburb of Beit Shemesh comes three months after about 100 ultra-Orthodox Jews in the area burned trash cans, smashed bus windows, set a field on fire, and threw rocks at police officers.
