Some "Zionists" these are

At least two "Zionist Orthodox rabbis", one of whom already made an embarrassment of himself, have been criticizing the army for the wrong reasons, and Yeshiva World News sounds like they're paying lip service to a bad mindset:
Leading dati leumi poskim including Rabbi Tzefanya Drori Shlita and Rabbi Chaim Druckman Shlita have spoken out against the new policies of the IDF, warning these policies are creating a difficult atmosphere for religious soldiers and officers. [...]

These rabbonim are interviewed in the weekly dati leumi BaSheva newspaper, speaking of how the military is working behind the backs of the religious officers to create a new reality, one that is unfriendly to religious officers. They speak of the fact that frum [Haredi] soldiers may be compelled to listen to women sing in addition to a more permissive dress code for female physical education instructors. In the past explain the rabbonim, there was an understanding, taking the religious sensitivities of observant soldier and officer into account but this has changing.
It sounds like they're bending over backwards, becoming sniveling cowards who can't bring themselves to challenge the frum lifestyle with its insulting sex-segregation beliefs. Now if they don't want to listen to a concert with lady singers, that's one thing, but to claim and believe it's sinful in every way to listen to lady singers is offensive to the memory of biblical Miriam, as I'd said before. What clowns Drori and Druckman are. Especially the latter. The site then ends with this peculiar part:
...from the time of her appointment, IDF Chief of Personnel Branch Major-General Orna Barvibai made her hashkafa [view] quite clear, to advance women in the military. She has been less than sympathetic when it comes to understanding and accommodating religious issues. She is the highest ranking female officer in the military.
Sounds like YWN has a problem with this. There's no problem accommodating religion so long as it's not accommodating beliefs that weren't part of Judaism in past centuries like discrimination. And if this is what YWN and the 2 rabbis believe, then they're insulting biblical Deborah. Integrating Haredis into the army shouldn't have to come at the cost of sex discrimination, and Drori and Druckman's knee-jerk position only makes things worse.
