Moshe Abutbol wins revote in Beit Shemesh

I realized it was possible, and now the disgusting Haredi mayor of Beit Shemesh has won the revote. And while the results may be the same as the last time, Abutbol apparently got some of the most extreme anti-Zionist factions like Toldot Aharon to vote for him this time, and another sad part is that the non-Haredi public may have lost the enthusiasm to come out in droves, even if the results were a 2 percent difference.
It's not good for the city, though Natan Slifkin estimates it'll be good news for the rest of the country, because Abutbol is such a creep, and he almost singlehandedly brought Yair Lapid to power. That may be so. All the same, a lot of work must be done to make send a message to Abutbol that he is not going to have the extreme way he's determined to carry out.
Update: this Jerusalem Post article says that the draft bill for Haredi army recruitment may have intensified the Haredi resentment and led to the results of the repeat election.
Update 2: here's more news on a petition to split the city.
