Illegal Haredi schools in London aren't being shut down for the same reason Islamic madrassas aren't
The Times of Israel notes that some illegal Haredi yeshivas for youngsters haven't been closed down:
The local council of a London area with many Jewish residents criticized the government’s alleged inaction on unregulated educational institutions serving Haredi Orthodox Jews.Here's a point worthy to make: if these illegal yeshivas are run by socialist cretins like the Satmar and Neturei Karta clans, then no wonder they won't be shut down so easily, just like only so many Islamic madrassas that could be run illegally in the UK aren't bound to be shut down any time in the forseeable future. The Hackney council would do well to ponder how some of these ultra-Orthodox clans happen to share specific views of the establishment, and aren't even opposed to Islamism by any stretch. The unregistered Haredi yeshivas prevail for the same reasons as the Islamic madrassas do.
The Hackney Council leveled the criticism in a report published this week, the Jewish Chronicle reported.
It says new laws should be considered “as a matter of urgency” to regulate unlicensed institutions, which teach an estimated 1,000 to 1,500 boys aged 13 to 18 in the North London borough.
“There are few if any safeguards in place to ensure their safety and well-being or that they are being taught to an acceptable standard,” says the report after more than a year’s investigation by the council’s Children and Young People Scrutiny Commission.
There was no evidence of a curriculum adequately covering English, math, science or broader humanities subjects, the commission found.
