Tel-Chai Nation

Israel, much like the fortress of Tel-Chai that Jospeh Trumpeldor fought to defend against Arab conquerors in 1920, finds itself beseiged by enemies both within and without. Terrorists, would-be friends inside and outside Israel, and even bad government officials. Here are the discussions of one proud Zionist resident on the state of the nation and abroad.

The left and Liberman still disrespect the public's choice

Even though the Likud won a sufficient majority in this week's election, not just the left, but also Avigdor Liberman, now intend to promote a law that would prevent a Knesset member facing indictment from forming a government. Meaning of course, Netanyahu:
The Yisrael Beytenu faction convened at a faction meeting on Thursday, at the end of which the party spokesman said that the faction had decided to promote two laws.

The first is the law limiting the tenure of a prime minister to two terms. The second is the law that prevents an MK facing an indictment from being tasked with forming a government.

The decision is a clear signal from Liberman that, even after the current round of elections, he will not enable Prime Minister Netanyahu to form a new government.

MK Ayman Odeh, chairman of the Joint List faction, responded to the announcement, saying, "Interesting. This is a new situation, we will consider the consequences."

Blue and White officials noted that in order to advance the law, which Liberman today announced he would support, it would be necessary to elect a new Knesset Speaker from White Blue instead of Yuli Edelstein. The candidate is MK Meir Cohen.
This is honestly no surprise by now Liberman's continuing to do everything he can to undermine Netanyahu. At this point, he's merely proving he was never fit to be a politician. It's a shame the right-wing coalition was only able to garner 58 seats in the Knesset. Here's what Netanyahu said in response to the whole act:
Speaking at a meeting of the MKs in his right-wing bloc on Thursday, the prime minister said the effort to pass the bill would undermine democracy. The leaders of the parties in his bloc vowed to remain united and insist that only Netanyahu form the next government.

"This is an effort to divide the nation when we are facing serious challenges like the corona crisis," Netanyahu said in the part of the meeting that was open to the press. "There are also opportunities like US President Donald Trump's plan that require us to be united and respect the will of the people."

After the press was asked to leave the room, Netanyahu upgraded his attack on Gantz, saying that he was worse than Iranian Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei.

"In Iran, they disqualify candidates before their elections, but here Gantz is doing it after an election despite the results," Netanyahu said.
It isn't all that different from how the Democrats are acting towards Donald Trump either. Needless to say, it also sends a bad message to friends of Israel abroad, and demonstrates both Gantz and Liberman's lack of shame.
