Canadian Muslim who traveled to Syria to participate in jihad pleads guilty in court

Following an investigation and arrest, a jihadist living in Canada was arraigned:
A Calgary man who traveled to Syria to join the militant group Islamic State pleaded guilty Thursday to terrorism-related activities.

Hussein Borhot, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of participating in terrorism group activity between May 9 and June 7, 2014, and the commission of the offense of kidnapping for a terrorist group while in Syria. The maximum sentence on the second offense is life in prison.

RCMP arrested him in July 2020 after a seven-year investigation which also involved the FBI and US Department of Defense.
Another adherent to the Religion of Peace throws his life away for the sake of violence, when here, he could've been part of wider society and built up a prosperous life not based on barbarism for sport.
