International swimming committee bans transsexual men from competing against women, or do they?
On Sunday, the international governing body for swimming, Fina, officially enacted rules that will exclude transgender swimmers such as Lia Thomas from competing under their chosen gender in competitions organized under its authority. But wait, what's this about claims of transition before puberty? Which could explain why The Federalist says the news isn't entirely good:
The officials decided that males who experienced puberty would be ineligible to compete as women and that only transgender athletes who claim to have transitioned from male to female before the age of 12 years would be allowed to compete as women.
The group also decided to create new trans categories for swimmers who became transgender after puberty.
Fina described the new policy as a way to implement “full inclusion” for trans athletes but not at the cost of “competitive fairness” for natural-born women.
The International Swimming Federation (FINA) recently voted to limit the participation of males in female water competitions but the new policy rewards the chemical castration and mutilation of preteen boys by promising them a place in women’s competitions as long as they start sex experiments before they turn 12 years old.I have to admit, there is something suspicious in how Fina put it, and it's a terrible shame, no matter what their managers say, that they're implying chemical castration is acceptable. It definitely wasn't during the Holocaust of WW2, and it shouldn't be even now. This is just another stealth attempt to please everybody, and it's simply not good. Fina, and other such outfits, have to prove they can refute this illogic entirely and not act as though they're obligated to please ideologues.
On its face, FINA’s decision looks like a win for women who have begged and pleaded for fair, female-only sports competitions that can’t be infiltrated by males. While it’s true that men such as infamous University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas will not be permitted to compete in upcoming FINA competitions, the organization’s new policy has caveats that allow men to compete against women so long as they undergo irreversible and risky sex experiments as young minors.
