Ehud Olmert accused of sexual harassment
Veteran Army Radio reporter Hadas Shtaif on Saturday accused former prime minister Ehud Olmert of sexually harassing her some years ago. After all the nasty horrors Olmert enabled during the "disengagement" in 2005-2006, it's no shock at all he'd be capable of this either. In fact, I wouldn't even be shocked if Ariel Sharon had his own share of closet skeletons. I don't know if an investigation will be opened into Olmert's misdeeds, but these revelations will hopefully lead to his being deservedly shunned as an outcast.
Shtaif said that upon leaving Israel’s Channel 1 TV studio some years ago, Olmert pressed her up against the wall and “whispered in my ear.” He then allegedly touched her ear “with his disgusting tongue. I pushed him away immediately.”
[...] Later on Twitter, Shtaif said, “It’s all true. I reported it in real time to many people. I was sickened. I did not forget.
[...] The #MeToo phenomenon sweeping through America has given rise to a similar rash of allegations in Israel, with almost daily accusations of sexual misconduct leveled against prominent figures. These have included, among others, veteran journalists Haim Yavin and Gabi Gazit, popular radio host Natan Zahavi and Alex Gilady, president of the Keshet Broadcasting group and Israel’s representative on the International Olympic Committee.
