Indian government shuts down Islamic madrassas in one of the state's regions

The government of India made a wise step in closing madrassas in one of their federal districts:
An Indian state ruled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Hindu nationalist party on Wednesday passed a law abolishing state-run Islamic schools, saying they provided sub-standard education.

More than 700 of the government-funded religious schools, known as madrasas, in northeastern Assam will be shut by April, the state's education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told the local assembly.
It's a responsible step that can prevent indoctrination for the worse, and something that should also be done in Europe far more widely. And will have to be done there soon.
