During an early afternoon interview with Israel Radio, former Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu questioned why Prime Minister Ariel Sharon ignored the destruction of Gaza synagogues in his UN address on Thursday.Very excellent points Netanyahu brought up.
Netanyahu, who is running against Sharon for the Likud Party leadership position pointed out that the prime minister focused on highlighting the rights and needs of the Palestinian Authority, but did not even deem it necessary to mention the fact that Gaza’s synagogues were firebomb[ed], vandalized and destroyed following the IDF withdrawal from the area.
Netanyahu mentioned that there should also be significant government concerns over the chaos which prevails along Gaza’s southern border, which he pointed out may lead to terrorism from Sinai to Gaza and Sinai to the Negev areas.
The former prime minister added that Mr. Sharon’s words were clear, and he plans to remove additional Jewish communities in the future.
