Natan Sharansky calls for return of genuine Likud

Natan Sharansky, the very influential Israeli politician who was a refugee from the former Soviet Union, has asked colleagues in the Likud for a return to the genuine Likud of years before.
(IsraelNN.com) Speaking with faction members on Monday, MK (Likud) Natan Sharansky called on colleagues to return to the genuine Likud of yesterday.

Sharansky stated that he voted against the disengagement plan, against Sharon’s policies and resigned from the cabinet in protest, all while Sharon directed the Likud away from its platform and ideology.

“Finally, something I agree to as well,” stated Sharansky as he commented on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s announced resignation from the party.
I agree completely with Sharansky that for the party to return to its genuinely ideological roots would be a very good thing.
