Yitzhak Mordecai's felonies should not be forgotten
Before I begin, let me note that this is NOT an attempt to whitewash Benjamin Netanyahu. Of course I realize that he does have his flaws, and that he did do some things that were stupid, but, for anyone who needs to know exactly what caused any failures: it was his former "defense minister" Yitzhak Mordecai.
Mordecai was responsible for holding up and botching a lot of building approvements in the time that he maintained the position of a defense minister in Israel, as Makor Rishon revealed several years ago, and, as explained in this report from WorldNetDaily:
Now, Mordecai, who IIRC, was once married to a much younger woman (who later divorced him), has since been convicted of sexual harrassment against three women in the army:

Under heavy public pressure and betrayed by his own minister of defense, Yitzhak Mordecai, who closed ranks with Clinton, Netanyahu reluctantly and with misgivings accepted this private deal. The signing ceremony was held in Washington as scheduled. So for anyone who's got misgivings about Netanyahu, there's a very telling clue as to why he ended up being undermined. (Report is also available on Netanyahu website.)
Now, Mordecai, who IIRC, was once married to a much younger woman (who later divorced him), has since been convicted of sexual harrassment against three women in the army:
In 1998 Israel adopted a comprehensive sexual harassment prevention law; since that time, several prominent cases have increased public awareness of the issue. For example, in July 2000, the Government lifted the immunity of then-Transportation Minister Yitzhak Mordecai following complaints that he had sexually harassed three women. Mordecai was convicted in January on two of the three counts and given a suspended sentence of 18 months. The really bothersome part is that, perhaps out of over-leftism, the army itself would not revoke his rank as a general either. And that's something that's going to have to be done, since not only is it richly deserved for someone of Mordecai's standing, but it's also important for maintaining law and order!
