Sadly, I believe you are correct that there will be excuse making to accept Hamas. The very notion that if Hamas renounces it's principles is no more than a request that they lie so we can pretend they aren't the hate-filled savages that they are. There can be so such change in character. All the effort to get them to lie (and only lie in English) is absurd ... and it shows our (America's) willingness to tolerate Islamist terrorists.
I’ve been saying that the mere request for the impossible (that Hamas change) is a sign of weakness and the willingness to delude ourselves. The request, itself, must be condemned.
