Le Pen punched even his fellow French in the face
It's a good thing I came across this shocker from The Epoch Times, from a Reuters article from July. It just goes to prove that yes, Jean-MarieDhimmi Le Pen can be and IS dangerous to even his fellow French compatriots:

PARIS - French far-right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen will face trial for saying the Nazi occupation of France during World War Two had not been "particularly inhumane", a judicial source said on Wednesday.Got that? In other words, he's denying the brutality that even the native French themselves suffered at the hands of the nazis during WW2. And just given the chance, there's every possibility that he'll turn against even the Italians, the Greeks, the Armenians and even women as well. Let us be clear here, this man is DANGEROUS. I urge everyone concerned for France to pass this info around, if it hasn't been fully picked up yet, and to let everyone who needs to know get to know what Le Pen is really like.
The conservative government, anti-racism organisations and Jewish groups sharply condemned Le Pen's comments last year, when they were published in an interview with right-wing weekly magazine Rivarol.
"In France, at least, the German occupation was not particularly inhumane, although there were some blunders, inevitable in a country of 550,000 sq km," Le Pen had said.

Shalom, Avi. From a Jew- what he said ought to be protected under something similar to free speech laws. I know no such thing exists in France, but that's an indictment of the French law, not of the man speaking.
The indictment of the man speaking should come from you and I, and Angel, and perhaps even his constituency- not the judiciary of the country. There are words that ought not be uttered, for fear of further dangers to others. These are not, in my opinion, those words. This thing he's said, it's more like he's hanging himself. If you don't let him have the rope, he can't do even that.
Would you rather he govern by these beliefs he holds to himself, like a lot of American politicians do, or speak out and be accountable to you? In short, you can't legislate good taste, nor can you stop a ninny from crapping on himself with an injunction.
On a seperate note, isn't this the man who closed down the Islamofascist prayer rooms at de Gaulle?

Angel, thanks for the trackback. Truman, thanks for your message too. First, let me note that it was Nicholas Sarkozy who shut down the Islamofascist prayer rooms in the De Gaulle airport in Paris, following research that was written by Phillipe De Villiers, the leader of another political party that's much better than Le Pen's.
Regarding the question of whether or not Le Pen's inciteful speeches should be prosecuted, because it could run the risk of making it hard to criticize Islamofascism, you've got an interesting point. I remember that blogger Betsy Newmark also wondered the same thing, following the trial of the British bigot David Irving.
In the internet age, since it's possible for the common citizen to prosecute stand up to these thugs, inform about them and help form an opinion of what's to be done, maybe that's one more reason why it's better for the regular public to be the ones to judge.
If Le Pen, Irving and Simon Smith of the BNP do need punishment, maybe it's through a lawsuit, which can after all be brought against them by public figures.
So again, you've an interesting point, and I'll try later to write a topic about it.

le pen is allied with the modern day nazis too, islamofascists but then france has a long honorable history of collaboration with its occupiers, the occupiers just wear the crescent instead of the swastika now
