Temple Mount construction quarry found
Well, it looks like I've found an internet computer here in Eilat after all, and here's an article about a new ancient structure found:
(IsraelNN.com) The Antiquities Authority announced Sunday that archeologists had found an ancient quarry that supplied rocks for the construction of the Temple Mount. The quarry is located in the neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo in Jerusalem, between French Hill and Ramot. The rocks found at the site are unusually large—between three and eight meters long.Good idea, secure the ancient structure compound first and then get to work on the new school afterwards.
The quarry was found during a dig that was initiated prior to the construction of a local school. Following the discovery, Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupoliansky ordered a halt to the school construction plans, and allocated NIS 350,000 for continued archeological work.
