Marine expelled over puppy scandal

In an update on this story, the US Marine who threw a puppy off a cliff has been kicked out of the army, and another one's been punished. And I have to agree, that was the best thing to do. The man disgraced his profession by giving a bad impression of military officials. What's still not clear to me though, and I suspect that AP would want it that way, is whether or not the puppy was a real one. But does it matter? What those two Marines was offensive either way.
I guess all that leaves now is for any and all of those message boarders who wrote inciteful threats against the families of the Marine to apologize for potentially breaking the law, and any and all forum moderators who failed to delete or even rebut them to apologize for shirking their responsibilities as well. That was equally obscene how they reacted, and nobody with sense should waste time on any of the forums whose administrators allowed incitement to go on unchallenged.
A little more on this at Hot Air Headlines.
Update: I guess the puppy was a real one. Which means that I am now making absolute snake eyes at the scumbag who pulled that filthy stunt. Like Laughing Wolf at Blackfive, I too am angry but also glad that the Marine top brass took the responsibility of dealing with those two sickos.
