Britain's problem with knives
Did Tony Blair's government really think they were going to solve crime and violence in Britain when they banned ownership of personal handguns a little over a decade ago? Well, it's been 11 years since then, and as Power Line discovers, things have only gotten worse. For example, just a few days ago, two French students were knifed to death and the bodies burned, all in order to rob them of Playstation consoles. And almost two months ago, an actor who'd appeared in one of the Harry Potter movies was stabbed to death at a party in England while defending his brother.
Some violent crimes in England manage to make my skin crawl in ways that those taking place in few other western countries do. And what's led to this current state of horror isn't just that self-defense has been made a crime in that country, it's also because of the wretched education system. I suppose there might be some schools where special lessons about the follies of violence are given, but clearly, they are botching the job badly.
