Britain's Chief Justice supports Shari'a for UK
Wow, just shortly after I found that article about how UK judges are enabling terrorists to roam free, now here's an article in which we learn that Lord Phillips, the top-ranking judge, has declared his support for Shari'a courts in Britain (via Dhimmi Watch):
Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, the Lord Chief Justice, strongly backed Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, over his suggestion earlier this year that aspects of sharia should be adopted in Britain.Melanie Phillips has already responded to this, and she's right, he does not understand anything about theocracy. Here is a transcript of his discussion in PDF, which he gave at the London Muslim Center. He actually admitted that he knows little about Shari'a to begin with. If that be the case, he has acted very irresponsibly, only continuing the country's slow walk to the Islamic brink.
The archbishop's remarks sparked a national debate and led to calls for his resignation.
Risking inflaming that controversy again, Lord Phillips has said that Muslims in Britain should be able to use sharia to decide financial and marital disputes.
