At long last, justice is served for OJ Simpson
It took 12 years, but finally, it looks like OJ Simpson, who evaded jail when he murdered his ex-wife in 1994, has now been convicted of armed robbery in Las Vegas, and could serve life, which could certainly be what he's asking for after the crime he'd first committed (via Hot Air):
On a related note, he has managed to sully quite a perception of his past works. I have some old comic books with ads in which he's featured that make me feel depressed whenever I see them now. And I'll never be able to watch any of the films he appeared in like the Naked Gun movies comfortably again, assuming I ever have the strength to watch them at all. He is a major disgrace to this world, and should be sent away to spend the rest of his life in oblivion for filthying up a ton of stuff with the abominable act he committed.
Update: here's an op-ed about the case from The American Thinker.
O.J. Simpson, who went from American sports idol to celebrity-in-exile after he was acquitted of murder in 1995, was found guilty Friday of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room. It's a shame that, thanks to a gullible jury years ago, he got away with his crime back then. But now, it looks like he's going to get a well-deserved prison sentence for his obscenity of past years.
The 61-year-old former football star could spend the rest of his life in prison. Sentencing was set for Dec. 5.
A weary and somber Simpson released a heavy sigh as the charges were read by the clerk in Clark County District Court. He was immediately taken into custody.
