Britain's supreme court delegitimizes Orthodox Jewish school system
Melanie Phillips reports that the UK's supreme court has made an absurd ruling on the case of an Orthodox Jewish school that wouldn't accept a child whose mother had converted to Judaism under the Masorti (Conservative) sect. They claim it was racial discrimination, when it was just a case of their not accepting students who don't follow their sect of religion in Judaism. I've sometimes thought that a sufficient distinction is needed between the Jewish race and its similarly named religion, so that certain matters won't be confused. Unfortunately, you won't find those kind of distinctions in Britain, which is clearly set out to delegitimize the religious school system there. But don't worry, you can be quite sure that won't happen with Muslim schools in such a hurry!
In fact, I recommend taking a look at this article from the Weekly Standard, which tells how old school British anti-semitism is resurfacing, and even Mearshimer propaganda can find more willing supporters in the blighty than it can in the US.

Take a look at the reply to the Debbie Schlussel piece in the Weekly Standard by RUTH, which pretty much destroys her and your argument. And don't expect Melanie Phillips to give you an accurate picture of what is going on in the UK - her newspaper the Daily Mail is a dishonest right-wing rag, while she herself is thankfully unrepresentative of British Jewry.
There is a campaign against faith schools in the Uk, but the government has assiduously supported them for the last 12 years, and unlike the US, where the government does not allow faith schools to be publicly funded, thereby disenfranshising most Jews from faith schools on grounds of cost, the Uk has a huge network of state-funded faith schools, and the only people disenfrachising jews from attending are other jews!

I'm afraid you've just botched your OWN argument, dum dum. There is no response by "Ruth" to either Schlussel or Phillips, and suffice it to say you make the grave mistake of telling me what to think or believe, to say nothing of being oblivious to the fact that I'm a right-winger myself. But then, if there is, you should've linked to it here.
On top of all that, it's good if faith schools aren't publicly funded; they shouldn't be. That Britain's doing it just underscores how they waste tons on welfare, and it only helps them to pull the strings of these schools for as long as they make the mistake of demanding government funding. Private institutions are far better.
