Texas factory for fertilizer explodes
This looks like a very bad week in the USA. Now, a plant in Texas has blown up:
The wife of a volunteer firefighter in West, Texas, said her husband rushed to the site of a massive blaze at a fertilizer plant after a catastrophic blast there destroyed their house and killed their dog.Truly awful, and I must offer my condolences to them just as much as the victims of the terrorist attack in Boston. The worst thing about this disaster is: could it have been an act of terrorism too?
Cheryl Marak told CNN that her husband, Marty, rushed to fight the fires at the West Fertilizer Co. after an explosion leveled the plant and several surrounding blocks at around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Tommy Muska, the mayor of the small town just north of Waco, said the explosion felt like a nuclear bomb.
By early Thursday, it was reported that at least 15 people were dead and more than 160 injured.
