Fox News ending Shepard Smith's news segment
It looks like Fox is discontinuing one of their news segments with Shepard Smith, but still keeping him around:
Fox News Channel is eliminating one of Shepard Smith's two daily newscasts and putting him in charge of a news team designed to quickly break in to other Fox shows when something big is happening. Why do they need to employ him? He's one of the worst staffers they have, and his standings on Israel, for example, are but one reason why I can't stand him. IMHO, he deserves to lose his position as an anchor, but they they're still keeping him on. Pity.
Smith, the network's top news anchor, signed a new multi-year contract, the network said Thursday. He will keep his 3 p.m. Eastern newscast while the 7 p.m. show is eliminated.
