The singer Freddie Aguilar must be seeking ways to justify his affair with a minor:

BULUAN, Maguindanao – Folksinger Freddie Aguilar will wed his 16-year old girlfriend under Islamic rites here 3 p.m. Friday.

[...] Aguilar, whose star has waned, was thrown into the limelight anew when he broke the news about his minor-girlfriend.

He was widely criticized as a child exploiter and was even sued before a court for taking a minor as a girlfriend.

[...] Under Philippine laws, a 16-year-old girl is still a minor and isn’t allowed to marry.

But an earlier tabloid report said Aguilar had agreed to convert into Islam, which allows such union.

On November 2, Aguilar said in an INQUIRER report that he will do “whatever it takes even if it would mean converting into Islam” just to marry his girlfriend.

So now it's clear. He did all this in order to justify taking advantage of a minor. And the courts will presumably succumb to this pathetic act and not enforce the law. And the girlfriend herself must be really nuts to be willing to wed him no matter what. I feel sorry for her more than him.
