Haredis working with police don't want to ride in squad cars with female officers

While there are Haredis who've completed national service in the army, there are still those who've proven problematic, though not nearly as much as military and police officials who must take their ideology for granted, as the following report suggests:
The police intend to absorb no more than 2,200 haredim, Perlman said, due to the limited number of police units that do not operate on Shabbat, and because haredim cannot be assigned to share a squad car with female officers. Is that cannot or will not share the patrol car with a lady cop? Any Haredi who goes by that mindset without question has no place in the police or the army, IMO. So long as this farce continues, what are they really accomplishing?
