Delta lets a Haredi gender bigot cause flight delay
It's not just El Al who've been letting this harrassment go around on their flights. There's also Delta airlines, as told in this newest report:
An international flight from New York to Tel Aviv was delayed for half an hour after ultra-Orthodox men refused to sit between two women.That's not the problem here. What is the problem is that Delta apparently would not throw the shrieking coward off the plane, luggage and all. I assume it was really just one passenger, but the point is clear that some cry-baby, possibly living on welfare, upset the passengers, many of whom did the right thing to refuse accomadation to such a coward. Delta should be reported for letting this discriminatory act go on. I have no doubt the Haredi gender bigot was deliberately trying to anger the rest of the passengers, and embarrass Judaism by extension. He should be throughly ashamed of himself.
The flight crew of Delta Flight 468 departing John F. Kennedy Airport on December 20 attempted to find other seats for the haredi men. But other passengers refused to swap seats in protest at their refusal to sit next to female passengers, according to a Friday report by Israel Radio.
The men were finally accommodated by an American passenger who agreed to switch seats.
According to Federal Aviation Authority regulations, a flight is not permitted to take off until all passengers are seated.
