Aryeh Deri doesn't want to promote Haredi women's party
Yom L’Yom, Shas Party’s weekly publication, has apologized to its readers for publishing an ad on behalf of the Haredi women’s party, B’Zchutan, in last week’s edition, Ynet reported. This is an interesting revelation. He/they no longer have full control over an otherwise terrible paper? Either way, Deri's clear contempt for free speech is reprehensible.
The women’s party thought it was a major step in promoting Haredi feminism, however, the victory was short lived. The newspaper was reprimanded and printed an apology on behalf of Shas Chairman and Minister of Economy, Ariyeh Deri.
[...] According to Ynet, Deri, was outraged at the publication for putting in the ad. “We have no control over what happens in the paper, and it reinforces the perception that the movement must establish a new system of higher quality,” he told Haredi reporters.
