Rabbi Shlomo Riskin says we should embrace all Jews no matter the sect
The rabbi who was almost forced out of his position by Haredis who want to control all Judaism solely by how they see fit was interviewed by Israel National News. He says Netanyahu made a mistake selling the religious affairs ministry to the Haredis, and says:
"Netanyahu must re-think the fact that he sold the store of Religious Zionism away to the haredim. That's the real difficulty, because the Judaism that sometimes is expressed...is not the Judaism of sanctifying God's name."This alludes to how Shas and United Torah Judaism are anything but Zionist (and their economic platforms are socialist), and their policies only cause more harm to Orthodox Judaism as a whole than anything else.
Update: in related news, the government's setting up a special forum for dialogue between different sects of Judaism.
