Jihad with hammer at a Modiin construction site, and infant loses leg from another attack in Jerusalem
A Palestinian construction worker at a building site in Modi’in attacked his Jewish manager with a hammer on Tuesday afternoon, leaving him moderately wounded, Israel’s Army Radio reported. There's more on that horrific incident here, and you'll surely need a strong stomach for that one. Injuring an infant that badly is even worse than the hammer assault.
The laborer then attacked another man, who turned out to be an Arab from a different construction site. The second victim was also moderately wounded.
The assailant was arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.
Earlier in the day, a stabbing attack was thwarted in Jerusalem, when police officers patrolling the center of the city noticed a young Palestinian woman behaving suspiciously, and found a screwdriver in her bag. During the initial investigation it emerged that she had intended to use the tool to commit an attack.
These incidents come on the heels of Monday’s car-ramming attack in Jerusalem, which wounded more than a dozen Israelis, among them a baby, who is reported to have lost his leg.
