British police still failing rape victims
What was discovered in Rotherham in the past few years is still going on even now in the UK's Midlands:
West Midlands Police has been accused of letting victims down, in a damning report which says it is failing to record tens of thousands of crimes including sexual assaults on children each year.And they don't even put a lot of these horrifying crimes on record? This is shameful. It's noted further down in the article how many suspects and felons were just let off with a caution, rather than arrest them. No wonder these horrors are able to continue so easily.
An assessment by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) rated the police force — one of Britain’s largest —"inadequate" for its recording of crimes.
Looking at the period from July last year to January 2017, the report found that around 83.8 per cent of crimes reported to West Midlands Police are recorded, leaving 16.2 per cent — or more than 38,800 — unrecorded.
Crimes that police are failing to record include sexual offences, rape, and domestic abuse, according to the watchdog, which highlighted the recording rate for violent crime — 77.9 per cent — as a particular cause for concern.
