Modesty signs still a problem in Beit Shemesh, along with a city council official arrested for fraud

Two subjects of vital note from Beit Shemesh. The first is the continuing presence of modesty signs that Moshe Abutbol and company clearly don't want to take down, and some were put back up after they did:
The ongoing battle in Beit Shemesh over so-called modesty signs posted by haredi (ultra-Orthodox) extremists that tell women what to wear has now entered a new stage, with the municipality begrudgingly taking down two signs this week, only to have the extremists promptly replace them a day later.

Back in January 2015, a group of Beit Shemesh activists represented by the Reform Movement in Israel successfully petitioned the Beit Shemesh Magistrate’s Court to order the municipality to remove signs which instruct women to dress modestly.

The signs remained in place, however, and the issue eventually reached the Supreme Court earlier this month. It upheld a fine of NIS 5,000 per day – imposed by the Jerusalem District Court against the Beit Shemesh Municipality earlier this year – for contempt of court in failing to remove the signs.

On Sunday, the municipality finally sent officials to remove two signs, including the most prominent one on Nehar Hayarden Street, the main road traversing the extremist neighborhood of Ramat Beit Shemesh Bet.

The officials were accompanied by a police escort, but faced violent opposition by extremist haredi men who rioted and threw stones at the police and municipal officials, smashing the windscreens of two police patrol cars.

By Monday morning, the signs had been replaced.

Despite the municipality’s removal of the signs, the activists remain convinced that Mayor Moshe Abutbul and his municipal council have not dealt with the problem effectively and have not made the necessary efforts to ensure the signs do not go back up.
If the scum hanging them up had more to replace them with, and they didn't bother taking them down again the next day, police escort or not, then obviously, they're not trying very hard.
Shalem also noted that the extremists responsible for the signs are getting ready to go to war over the issue, pointing to public notices and pamphlets that have been distributed in the neighborhood calling on residents to protect the physical and spiritual well-being of the neighborhood.
So now they're threatening more riots. In that case, the authorities should be ready to stop them and if necessary, use rubber bullets and tear gas. And if they know who the sign posters are, they should arrest them for inciting violence.

The next item is the arrest of a fraudster at the municipality:
Police investigators on Wednesday afternoon surprised employees of the Beit Shemesh municipality, some 20 miles outside Jerusalem, and raided some city hall offices, as well as the adjacent offices of a private company. Investigators eventually left with armfuls of documents that ostensibly suspect the municipality’s conduct on various issues. They also detained one City Council member for interrogation, the website BeHadrei Haredim reported. Police also raided and searched the home of the same individual.

The investigation by the Fraud Department of the Jerusalem Police has been going on for some time, and stems from suspicion of misconduct in issuing tenders, fraud, and Breach of trust by a public servant. These include an attempt to divert and negotiate a public tender worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, originating from public funds, to favor personal acquaintances and interested parties.
That's how these Haredi thugs operate, all so they can build these densely populated slums for socialists who won't contribute anything to society.
