Mass murder at Las Vegas concert costs over 50 lives
A gunman reportedly opened fire on a country music concert outside the Mandalay Bay casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday evening. This is truly awful. Though it hasn't been clearly verified yet, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack by Paddock:
Fifty-plus people are confirmed dead and there are 200-plus reported injured. One suspect named as Stephen Paddock is confirmed dead by Joseph Lombardo, the sheriff of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Las Vegas Police have closed I-15 from Tropicana to Russell Road, and are asking people on the Strip to avoid the area. Reports indicate at least one gunman opened fire on crowds gathered for the Route 91 Harvest country music fest.
The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the shooting in Las Vegas, which has been confirmed as the deadliest of its kind in recent U.S. history.Again, it's not clear or confirmed, but reading this, there is valid reason to suspect it's possible the monster was an Islamic State collaborator, and it's certainly clear ISIS is targeting America.
The ISIS statement did not provide any evidence that the suspected shooter was a Muslim, though they claim him as a recent convert, or that the shooter had any ties to the Islamic State group. [...]
In addition to the lack of evidence from ISIS, the claim of his affiliation with the group has not yet been independently verified, although reports suggest he was “known to local law enforcement.”
ISIS has previously encouraged its supporters and lone-wolf jihadis to target Las Vegas, with a propaganda video from 2016 using footage of the city’s iconic strip which was described as “sin city.” It has also published statements claiming a variety of global atrocities for which there has been limited evidence linking assailants to the group. ISIS has suffered major losses in the past year in its “caliphate” in Syria and Iraq.
My condolences to the victims and families.
