Anti-semites infiltrating Yellow Vests need to be purged
French philosopher and writer Alain Finkielkraut was came under a verbal anti-Semitic attack by Yellow Vest protesters in central Paris. But is that an altruistic statement, or, is it only because these aren't Muslims who're making the filthy remarks? For now, it's definitely a shame this had to happen, as it embarrasses the causes the Yellow Vests are fighting for. Marion Marechal said there were violent leftists infiltrating the movement, and that could be so. Nevertheless, that something like this should happen is disturbing.
The incident on Saturday was captured on camera, with protesters yelling “Dirty Jew,” “you’re a hater, you’re going to die, you’re going to hell,” “Dirty Zionist,” “France is ours,” and “return to Tel Aviv.” Police intervened to protect Finkielkraut.
French President Emmanuel Marcon condemned the attack in a series of tweets. “The anti-Semitic insults he has been subjected to are the absolute negation of what we are and what makes us a great nation. We will not tolerate it,” Macron tweeted.
Now, there's a protest specifically dedicated to protesting anti-semitism, and it says here:
The fact that 14 national political parties are mobilizing to protest – not against a mixed bag of hate victimologies drafted against Islamophobia, refugees or gays, but focusing exclusively on antisemitism – is a breakthrough.Indeed, I'd like to know if anybody attending is going to bring up the subject of Islamofascists entering the country? Because if they don't, and if they won't make a call for ensuring the right to self-defense by being allowed to purchase firearms for self-defense, then they've failed whatever message they're trying to convey. They're going to have to show they're up to the challenge, and if not, I don't see what's the use if they can't bring up important ideas.
The main rally will, of course, take place in Paris, at the fabled Place de la République at 7 p.m.
The Right-Left polarization had put French Jews in a difficult position, just as the threat to bipartisanship for American Jewry or the Corbyn factor for British Jewry.
A French approach views “antisemitism as violating the values of the Republic, beginning with ‘Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.’”
Indeed, this is an occasion to emphasize those values for the absorption of immigrants from backgrounds that are steeped in antisemitism.
