Politics commentator Mark Levin's stated correctly that Netanyahu should not be resigning over this atrocious corruption of justice which Avichai Mandelblit, whom Netanyahu himself appointed, and should combat the trumped up charges:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was urged to stand his ground Thursday against an “outrageous” slew of corruption allegations, with political commentator Mark Levin backing him to fight what he called a “corrupt investigation.”And former justice minister Ayelet Shaked's not availing by defending Mandelblit despite his otherwise poor, cowardly handling of this affair:
Levin took to Twitter to urge Israel’s leader not to back down:
Levin’s intervention came just hours after Israel’s attorney-general formally charged Netanyahu in a series of corruption cases, as Breitbart News reported. [...]
A characteristically combative Netanyahu responded by calling the allegations a witch hunt, pointing to the media, police, prosecutors and the justice system as being party to the attack.
Former Justice Minister MK Ayelet Shaked (New Right) defended Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit Friday morning, following his announcement Thursday that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will be indicted in the Case 1000, 2000, and 4000 investigations.It's also important she keep her dumb mouth shut, because she did nothing proper when she held the justice portfolio to ensure this kind of horrific abuse of the legal system would be put to an end. "Professional"? My foot. She and her boss, Naftali Bennett, are at least partly responsible for getting us into the mess of elections in the first place.
“Mandelblit is an honest man, who makes his decisions independently, based on the evidence and his professional opinion. Even if we don’t agree [with the decision], it is important to recognize that his motives are professional.”
Shaked also pushed back on claims that the court must intervene following the Prime Minister’s indictment, arguing that Netanyahu’s indictment did not bar him from either remaining on as premier, or bar him from running again if the country heads to its third elections in less than a year.
“If we end up having a third election, it is important even then that the one decides this is only the public, not the courts.”
Levin's right that the press in Israel are even worse in some ways than America's. And something has to be done about their embarrassment too.
