Birmingham movie theater attacked by machete-wielding gang over unwanted screening
In another horrifying instance of knife crime in the UK, an entertainment complex in Birmingham was evacuated after around 100 people, some carrying machetes, stormed the cinema and began brawling over the release of a new gangster movie.More than that, I'm sure it's all because it even so much as alludes to Islam's role in violent gangland crime. In any case, 2 theater chains predictably caved and refuse to screen Blue Story:
A group of mostly youths, armed with machetes, arrived at a Birmingham cinema on Saturday night, breaking out into fights. Armed police were called to the scene of the fight, in which police officers were assaulted and several arrests were made.
According to witnesses, the mayhem broke out over the release of Blue Story, a film which depicts gang culture in southeast London.
“That’s probably one of the scariest moments of my life. Me and my daughter were in a queue to watch Frozen, loads of little kids there, all dressed up and everything, then these girls jumped on another girl and loads of these kids just started fighting,” one witness told The Mirror.
“Armed police came with Tasers. All the people that were fighting run off into the cinema. There’s about 15 to 20 police cars. I’m shaking,” the witness added.
“This is the most horrifying thing I’ve been involved in. I’m scared and I’m 45. [There were] little girls dressed in Frozen dresses crying and screaming. Appalling behaviour all over a gangster film set in London,” another witness said.
Following the shocking display of violence by machete-clad youths at a cinema in Birmingham, two cinema chains have decided to pull screenings of the BBC backed gangster film, Blue Story.Meanwhile, over in Sadiq Khan's London, stabbings of teenage victims has reached a record high in a decade:
Vue Cinemas announced on Sunday that it had cancelled all screenings of the British-made film Blue Story in their 91 cinemas across the UK and Ireland.
“We can confirm a decision was made to remove the film from our cinemas. The safety and welfare of our customers and staff is always our first priority. We are saddened to have had to take this step, which is not made lightly, particularly as the film itself seeks to strike a strong message against violence,” a spokesman told the Metro.
The decision to pull the controversial gangster flick was mirrored by Showcase Cinemas, which cancelled all screenings of Blue Story in its 21 movie theatres in the UK.
The number of teens stabbed to death in London has reached an 11-year high, according to a report published by the BBC, with 23 teenagers being murdered on the streets of the capital since the start of this year.I've got a bad feeling quite a few of the culprits have even been released by authorities, while realists like Tommy Robinson are persecuted for daring to speak out. All this proves the UK looks to be facing a very violent future ahead.
The number of teenage victims of knife crime this year has surpassed that of 2008, marking another grim milestone in the tenure of Mayor Sadiq Khan. The number of fatal teenage stabbings, 23 so far this year, is also expected to surpass the 26 teens who were stabbed to death in 2007.
Since January, a total of 129 murder investigations have been undertaken in London. Most cases result in someone being charged; however, only two investigations into the murder of teenagers have resulted in convictions.
