IDF soldier murdered by rock-throwing Muslim, and guard stabbed at Sheba hospital
An Israeli soldier died after being struck in the head by a rock thrown from a rooftop during an arrest raid in the West Bank on Tuesday, the military said. What kind of shoddy nonsense is that to say the "palestinians" cooperated during the Corona crisis in an article that may come from Reuters? They did not, not even to a "degree" and antisemitic conspiracy theories did run rampant even during the past month. See also Jihad Watch's discovery of a NYT article that downplayed the incident. And here's the Jerusalem Post's report about the eulogy the soldier's father gave at his funeral.
The incident was a departure from a relative lull in lethal violence in the West Bank as Palestinians and Israelis have curbed movements and, to a degree, cooperated on measures in response to the coronavirus crisis.
The Israeli military said the soldier — identified as 21-year-old Amit Ben-Yigal of Ramat Gan — was hit in the head by a rock thrown from a rooftop in the village of Yabad, near Jenin, as his unit withdrew after detaining four Palestinians.
This latest article about the case says the IDF is closing in on him:
IDF and Shin Bet forces have arrested 20 people in pursuit of the terrorist who murdered Sergeant Amit Ben Yigal early Tuesday morning.Well let's hope they not only capture the creep, they also seal off the village too.
Duvdevan and Golani forces have been operating in three arenas at the same time: in the building from which the blocks were thrown, in the houses near the scene of the attack and in the areas surrounding the village of Ya'abed where the attack occurred.
A security official said the IDF would capture the assailant as soon as possible, partly because the attack was not planned out beforehand and the terrorist did not have a prearranged escape plan.
And it wasn't the only case involving jihadist violence this week. There was also this incident at Sheba hospital:
A stabbing Wednesday afternoon has left one person wounded at the entrance to the Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer, Ramat Gan, in central Israel. The guard was lucky here to survive, and it's good the assailant was put to death.
The victim, a security guard roughly 20 years of age, was lightly wounded in the attack. He has been evacuated to the hospital for treatment.
His assailant was shot and neutralized shortly after the attack.
