How to cultivate future leaders
It is important to encourage youth to engage with past leaders of their people who made their current way of life possible. Many Jewish youths take the existence of Israel or a Jewish state for granted because they have never known a world without it. Jewish youths will come to appreciate Israel more once they understand more of its history, and just how difficult and long the process was that resulted in the creation of the modern state.I would also add that anybody who wants to be revered as a leader would do well not to engage in espousing beliefs like the Haredis do, right down to the censorious/deleterious practices they specialize in that can be degrading to women and men alike. Mainly because that kind of mindset has only led to...anti-Zionism as espoused by the Satmar. So if you want to truly understand and respect history, don't turn to anything even remotely similar to that type of thinking.
