Some British Haredis have a problem with a UK parliament bill calling for stuff from the secular world to be taught at yeshivas:

A group of rabbis in the United Kingdom gathered outside the British Parliament on Wednesday to protest a proposed school bill that has been described as "a threat to alter fundamental facets of Jewish practice."

Schools Bill 2022 would require yeshivas, which are currently not defined as schools in the United Kingdom, to register with the Education Department, teach secular subjects, and be subjected to inspections from the Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills Office.

Schools that do not comply would be forced to close.

The Traditional Charedi Chinuch's Rabbinical Committee said in a press release on Monday that the bill "seeks to interfere" with religious life "by assimilating them into the lifestyle of the majority."

Let me put it this way. If the bill demands they teach "woke" subjects like normalization of homosexuality/transsexuality, which has become a sad staple in Britain today as much as the USA, then of course they shouldn't have to comply with such atrocious propaganda (although if the Haredis in question believe in gender segregation and censoring female imagery, they can't be surprised if it results in homosexuality for any of their subjects). But if the bill's purpose is to demand education for topics like mathematics, history and science, then what're they whining about? And what exact lifestyles do they have a beef with? Shutting oneself out as they are does no favors for their constituents, and that's why their failure to specify the beef only weakens whatever complaints they supposedly have. Depending how these Haredis run their schools, I won't feel sorry if they get boarded up because they refused to encourage their subjects to be self-reliant, rather than uphold the socialist mentality they sadly go by, which has led to the sad state of affairs we've seen for years now.
