Suspect arrested in Mea Shearim riot that injured mother
Police arrest a suspect in relation to an ultra-Orthodox protest in Jerusalem earlier this month during which a dumpster was set ablaze and shoved, seriously injuring a woman who was passing nearby.Interestingly, it was also reported a few days ago when police first searched the neighborhood:
Police say the suspect was arrested in the Haredi neighborhood of Mea Shearim in the capital and brought to a police station for questioning. Police say they will continue to search for suspects and bring all those involved in the incident to justice.
In addition, the police took down other Palestinian flags flying in the neighborhood while looking for the perpetrators of the cruel crimes.That's another of the chilling realities in these enclaves - that the extremists dwelling there support the PLO, and they're the ones surely most prone to riot.
As the police entered the neighborhood, a few people attempted to attack them, and they were assaulted with stones and eggs.
Let's hope all culprits in the crime that resulted in the mother being injured are brought to justice. And let's additionally hope some of these folks will abandon the Haredi lifestyle in the future.
