Locals in Monroe, NY protest deal with Kiryat Joel

Some local townsfolk in Monroe disapprove of the proposal to sell 500 acres to the Satmar enclave:

MONROE - Dozens of protesters worried about the Village of Kiryas Joel’s proposed land deal attended a rally in Monroe Sunday afternoon. [...]

They are fighting against a request made by the Hasidic community to take over 500 acres of land from Monroe.

They say the request, if approved, will impact taxes, water and traffic.

If the Satmar take over those acres, they'll use it for nothing more than adding more Orwellian neighborhoods to an already ghettoized community, and costing taxpayers more money. No, this is not something any sane society needs.
