Haredi rabbi who deceived several women on dating sites convicted of fraud
A man who used a fake identity to meet women on dating sites and have sexual relations with them under false pretenses is convicted at the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, the Kan public broadcaster reports. While his adultery was reprehensible, and did both his family and the women a terrible disfavor, he really shouldn't be charged under a questionable law that states that consensual sexual intercourse while committing deception about background literally equals rape. That only reeks of absurd "feminism" run amok. If the relations were otherwise consensual, then it's hardly even worth giving him a jail sentence; only a fine is needed. The law needs to be mended here.
Rabbi Yosef Paryzer, an American citizen who is married with children, pleads guilty on 12 counts of defrauding women, the outlet reports.
He enters the plea on the same day that the women were set to begin testifying, Kan says. An agreement has yet to be reached on his sentencing.
Paryzner used the alias “Jack Segal” on dating sites and gave false details about his life to the victims, with whom he engaged in concurrent months-long relationships.
Anyway, a real shame the man had to pull such insulting to the intellect tactics, which only make clear even religious can make serious mistakes.
